Choosing the Right Book

Opening a book is like nothing else in the world. The smell off the crisp clean pages as the binding makes a satisfying crackle when you open it. Then if you've found the right book the world within the words will grab at you and pull you in, but that is the hardest thing of all. Finding the right book. When most people glance over a bookshelf they see colors and shapes on covers that draw them closer, but that is the problem you can't judge a book by its cover. You also can't judge a book by somebody else's opinion. A book is yours, your own little fantasy. You have to dig to find your own fantasy. Sometimes I will read a sad book during a happy moment of my life and hate it. Then months, even years later I will feel sad, and pick up the book and love it. Right now I feel slow and lonely and the books I am reading reflect my mood, and lift me from my sad stage. Even if only for a while. I dare you to dig deeper as many have done before, and discover some inner part of you that is tucked inside the crisp pages of a book laying on a mahogany book shelf somewhere waiting for you to crack its cover open.
