Both Hershey's kisses, and book kisses give me a happy feeling on the inside! Both of them are both good and bad. Hershey's kisses are sweet and delicious but each one is 23 calories each... which is not a lot unless your me and you can and do eat about half the bag! Just like kiss scenes in books. If you read one you get that sweet satisfaction but as you read it repetitively(I mean like twenty to thirty times) I feel like I am slipping in on an intimate moment that is secret to them! I feel like that when I watch a Twilight movie which makes me close my eyes and blush, but when I read it I feel like I'm Bella and I really love that lovely feeling!
What about you? Do you like the intimate moments in books or do you feel like sometimes there is to much?
It depends on how it's written. Sometimes I feel a connection. Sometimes I feel embarrassed. Sometimes it's too much and I skip over it. Nice to "meet" you on the a-z challenge.

I agree with Karen. It depends on how well it's written. Sometimes, also, it's the anticipation leading up to the kiss, too.
ReplyDeleteI love it in a book when the anticipation for the kiss builds and builds sometimes that's better than the kiss itself. Like in NEVERMORE...the kiss doesn't come until nearly the end of the book! By that point, I'm so ready for it. :) It was like that in Twilight too. All about anticipation. :)
ReplyDeleteBring on the intimate moments in books!

I agree with Karen and Rae. A skilled author can connect you even if there is little intimacy. I'm thinking of Jane Austen's Persuasion in particular.
ReplyDeleteI think I read and reread kissing scenes way too many times.
ReplyDeleteDepends. If it fits the story, it's fine. I think if the writer is comfortable those scenes come off as fine. If not, they can come off as intrusive or otherwise.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this post! I like the intimate moments in books. They remind me why I fell in love with my husband. ;-) I'm so glad I found your blog! I'm stopping by from the A to Z challenge and I look forward to reading more from you.
ReplyDeleteThe good news is that Hershey's Kisses are 23 calories each. The bad news is that I can't ever just eat one. Such an unfair fact of life. It's a pleasure to meet you via the A-Z Challenge!
ReplyDeleteHere's to making it this far, congratulations! I have an award for you!!
ReplyDeleteThey are both beautiful things, I agree :)
